Nonetheless, the move is intended to maximally boost Bayelsa state’s tourism sector, harnessing the vast economic potentials of its aquatic environment. And trust Ben Bruce for his wealth of experience in show business garnered over the years.

Ex-Delta State Governor, James Ibori Pleads Guilty In London

Ex-Delta State Governor, James Ibori has pleaded guilty in a UK court to 10 counts of money-laundering and conspiracy to defraud.

The former Governor of the oil rich state was once seen as one of Nigeria's wealthiest and most influential politicians, was arrested in 2010 in Dubai and then extradited to London.

It is not surprising to know that Ibori was not the only one arrested, but his wife, sister and mistress have also been convicted of money-laundering.

Nelson Mandela's Face To Feature On All South African Bank Notes From End Of This Year

Nelson Mandela's face will feature on all South Africa's bank notes to honour the former president's role in fighting apartheid, President Jacob Zuma said on Saturday.The announcement coincides with the 22nd anniversary of Mandela's release from prison after serving 27 years in jail for his opposition to white-only rule.

"It is a befitting tribute to a man who became a symbol of this country's struggle for freedom, human rights and democracy ... With this humble gesture, we are expressing our deep gratitude as the South African people, to a life spent in service of the people of this country and in the cause of humanity worldwide."

The new notes featuring Mandela, who became South Africa's first democratically elected president in 1994, will be in circulation by the end of the year. The frail 93-year-old has not been seen in public since the closing ceremony of the Soccer World Cup in Johannesburg in July 2010.

It's time to pop Champagne as Veteran Actor and Lecturer Sam Dede joins the team of Nigerian Entertainers who are sitting on political chairs. The Actor who has featured in countless number of movies was appointed as the Director-General of the Rivers State Tourism Development Agency. His appointment was announced in Port-Harcourt by the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari.

Sam Dede have eventually join his compatriot and collegue Richard Mofe-Damijo who is Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta.

Youssou N’Dour Journey As Pop-Singer To Predential Has Come To An End

Legendary Senegalese Singer, Songwriter, Percussionist, and occasional Actor, Youssou N'Dour has been disqualified by a top Court in Senegal.

Some other candidates were also disqualified, but 85 year old Wade Abdulaye was cleared to contest. Abdulaye Wade who is also the Secretary-General of the Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS) and has led the party since it was founded in 1974. A long-time opposition leader, he ran for President four times, beginning in 1978, before he was elected in 2000.

"God Has Anointed Me To Lead A Revolution Against Jihadists" Bishop Oyedepo On Boko Haram

No doubt everyone is fed up with the whole Boko Haram dominance, this, the fact that little has been done to stop them and the fact that one of them detained escaped from the police not long ago makes the annoyance of Nigerians very understandable.

Last week we reported how securities at one of Bishop Oyedepo's Winner's Chapel branch, in Kaduna averted a Boko Haram sponsored bombing at the premises. Recently, he was quoted to have said;

‎"Everyone connected with the escape of the Boko Haram kingpin, would soon face the wrath of God. God has anointed me to lead a revolution against jihadists. Enough is enough of their activities. If it is the wish of God for the country to break up. God, break it now. If the church should arise, Nigeria will no more be a nation" Bishop David Oyedepo.

President Goodluck Jonathan Reduces Fuel Price To N97

 

President Goodluck Jonathan in an early morning broadcast today, announced the reduction of petrol pump price from N141 per litre to N97.
 

In a swift reaction to what looked like a disapproval to the presidents broadcast, Labour asked Nigerians to stay at home, as against rallies and street protests that had characterised the reaction to January 1, removal of the subsidy on petrol. Labour  in a statement called on its members to embark on a sit at home strike , due to security concerns.

The president however asked Nigerians to go back to work and go about their normal duties, as government has made arrangements for the protection of lives and property throughout the federation. Below is the transcript of his speech:
