Chris Brown Refused To Give Frank Ocean A 'Standing' Ovation At The Grammys

Chris who was recently involved in a brawl with Frank Ocean was spotted to have maintained his seat while everyone else rose in a standing ovation for Frank as he was announced winner of 'Best Urban Contemporary Album' -a category in which Chris was also nominated- at the Grammys.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, during the announcement of the nominees, the crowd stayed noticeably quiet when Brown was announced as a potential winner. When Ocean was dubbed the winner and handed the Grammy, the audience jumped to their feet to honor him. Every person in the room was on their feet, except Brown.

Just maybe Chris had been ensconcing all the while in his seat before the Frank-Ocean moment, could be.

BET Awards 2013 Announced To Be A Three-Day Music Extravaganza

BET Awards will experience a new set up this year: it has been announced that the Award will be three-day music extravaganza. The Awards will have performances by Beyonce, R.Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, The Jacksons, Snoop Lion "Snoop Dog", Jay-Z, P. Diddy, Miguel, School Boy Q, 2 Chains, Anthony Hamilton, T.I and more.

The BET Experience will be held in LA on June 28-30, 2013 with the Awards announced gor June 30 at the Nokia Theatre. The BET Experience is embellished with grand packages which include three-night passes to a planned concert series at Staples Center, access to the “106 & Park” stage, an intimate concert and comedy series at Club Nokia and seminars. The packages start at $199, and are also offered at $299 and $399. Also with a promise of a free expo and a free stage that will showcase upstart artists (This is truly gonna be fun).



Day 1
Beyoncé will kick off the inaugural “BET Experience at L.A. Live” when “The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour” comes to the Staples Center on Friday, June 28. Later in the evening, Erykah Badu will play an intimate show across the street at Club Nokia.

Day 2
Snoop Lion "Snoop Dog", Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, and SchoolBoy Q will infuse some West Coast resonance to Staples, while The Roots will throw a late-night jam session at Club Nokia.

Day 3
Gospel music man Kirk Franklin will hold Sunday service with a show at Club Nokia. Then, later in the evening a cast of R&B veterans will round out Sunday’s bill with R. Kelly, New Edition, and The Jacksons headlining a show at Staples. Earlier in the day.

The festivities will commence with the BET Awards ’13 on July 1, which this year move from the Shrine Auditorium to the Nokia Theater.

Tickets for individual shows go on sale February 11 or you can purchase a package for the whole weekend starting at $1,000. The 2013 BET Experience will run from June 28-30

Silverbird CEO, Ben Bruce Gets Political Appointment In Bayelsa State

Because of his emphatic contributions in media and tourism in Nigeria, Ben-Murray Bruce has been appointed as a honourary special adviser in the cabinet of newly sworn in Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson.

Nonetheless, the move is intended to maximally boost Bayelsa state’s tourism sector, harnessing the vast economic potentials of its aquatic environment. And trust Ben Bruce for his wealth of experience in show business garnered over the years.

Ben Bruce who last year made the move to run for the governorship of same state but was later eliminated, will also be proud of his job as Special Adviser on Investment and Tourism.

Dbanj, Wizkid, Naeto C, Iceprice And Duncan Mighty For Ghana Music Awards 2012

Congratulation to Dbanj, Wizkid, Naeto C, Iceprice and Duncan Mighty as they gain nomination at the 2012 edition of the annual Ghana Music Awards which will hold on April 14, 2012.

The organizers recently released the list of nominees, and the likes of Wizkid, Naeto C, Duncan Mighty, Iceprice and Dbanj were not left out.

The “African Artiste of the Year” category is highly dominated by Nigerian acts. Cabo Snoop is the other contender in the category who is non-Nigerian.Out of a total of 30 categories, 23 were announced;

Former US President Bill Clinton And Wife Of Former Prime Minister Of England Cherie Blair, Arrives Nigeria For THISDAY Awards

Wife of former British Prime Minister and distinguished Queen’s Counsel, Cherie Blair, arrived Sunday from the United Kingdom as the special guest speaker at the 17th THISDAY Annual Awards, scheduled to take place Monday evening at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mrs. Blair arrived ahead of former United States President, Bill Clinton, who is expected to arrive Monday to headline the awards ceremony and in addition to delivering the keynote lecture will hand out awards to this year’s recipients alongside Mrs. Blair.

Mrs. Blair arrived on board a British Airways flight from London, which landed in Lagos at 6.23pm and after security formalities to a battery of photographers at the departure hall at 7.15 pm, accompanied by a retinue of aides.

Ng Onyeukwu Bags Multiple Awards At The Global Africa Music Awards (GAMA)

The 1st Global African music awards unveiled its winners list and the big star of the night went to Nigerian artist, Ng(Don Zubi Entertainment). He picked up GOLD for Best African Male Artist, Best Collaboration with Kelly Handsome and tied for Song of The Year with Dare David. He also walked away with a Silver award in the Best R&B artist.

The rest of the wins was very well spread out to other outstanding artists.
All GOLD winners automatically qualify for the Global indie music awards, Bite My Music Global Awards which begins on February 29th and features musicians from more than 50 countries.Gold winners also win a special crystal award while all nominees and Silver & Bronze winners receive special certificates.
