Arinze Nwokolo the editor of Zen Magazine gave a full description of  what the January edition entails below.
"As more brands take advantage of the ever-evolving digital world, we would like to assert our position as one of Africa’s most vibrant online magazines. Being an online magazine isn't easy but like we all know life isn't meant to be easy. We face the same challenges like most magazines do “Deciding who gets to be on the cover, preparing the contents, designing, publishing on our website, sourcing for funding and maintaining a professional standard in all we do.
We enjoy what we do and if what we do can inspire just one person, then we have fulfilled our purpose. On Our January 2013 Cover this month is Nigerian-born British model Ayoola Bakare. You will get to know more about Ayoola as the issue progresses however our main focus this month is on the people that never get the attention – yes I am talking about the Make-Up Artists who make the models look flawlessly gorgeous. This month, our focus is on multi-award winning international Makeup Artist and founder of Pretty Flawless (Princess Amayo).
With well over 14 years experience in the industry and a self taught professional artist, Zen puts the focus on Princess this month as one of her top models Ayoola is set to break new boundaries this year globally in the modelling industry. We find out from Princess what makes a Make-Up artist Special, how she applies the make-up on a model, procedures and how to know which cosmetics  work best for your skin type and tone. This is one feature our female readers would love and we can’t wait to share it with you all.
We also have a stunning editorial on a brand new T-Shirt clothing line “Freedom54″, a review of “Why Africa is the best destination for holiday and tourism”, we also talk about a very sensitive matter “Rape” and Should rapists get tougher sentences or face the death penalty? As always, we welcome your questions, comments, and feedback!"
