Miss West Africa Nigeria Winner To Compete For Miss West Africa International

This year's Miss West Africa International pageant takes place in Gambia by December and all winners of the Miss West Africa competitions around the world will participate in it. In essence, the girls participating are already crowned queens, they have all begun activities for the progress of their countries/ charities, and have already experienced the standards of pageantry. The show will feature celebrity west African musicians and cultural performers and will air live online and on TV as one girl will fly home as the successor to 2009 winner Shireen Benjamin .

Angela Ineh who was crowned Miss West Africa Nigeria in September will represent Nigeria by competing against queens from 23 other countries. 18 of the contestants represent West African countries while the rest are African queens based in UK, USA, Italy, France, Germany and Canada, this is a result of the large number of Africans living abroad wanting to be a part of this celebration of their culture.  All the queens will be arriving in Gambia on the 13th of December, and throughout their stay at Kairaba Hotel, they will be filmed and their Gambian tour documented for TV and DVDs.

“Miss West Africa has opened the hearts and minds of many to learning more about other West African cultures. Our focus has always been on promoting West African tourism, business and culture. In our third year only we are in 24 countries with 16 events. And we appreciate all the support from various tourist organisations and the day to day Africans. We are proud to be making history.”
