Young bloggers from each of UNESCO’s five constituent regions (Africa, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and North America & Latin America and the Caribbean)

Established in 1999, the Youth Forum has become an integral part of UNESCO’s highest decision-making body – the General Conference. It brings together young delegates from all over the world to exchange views, share experiences and identify common opportunities and challenges. The 7th UNESCO Youth Forum of the 36th UNESCO General Conference will take place from 17 to 20 October 2011.

As part of the 7th Youth Forum, UNESCO will be offering five young journalists and bloggers the opportunity to participate in the Paris event. Journalists and bloggers who are selected to attend the 7thUNESCO Youth Forum will be able to network with youth delegates from 193 countries, with key members of international organizations and with non-governmental organizations.

Youth journalists and bloggers have three roles: Firstly, they will ensure internal coverage of the Forum through blogs, articles, video clips, radio coverage and other relevant mediums. Secondly, they will be responsible for reporting news of the Forum to their regional and local communities, networks and organizations. Thirdly, they will accompany the action of youth delegates in implementing the recommendations of the Forum in the regions.

Eligibility

The General requirements for youth journalists and bloggers are:

• Be below 30 years of age
• To have journalism (online, print, photo, video, radio) and/or blogging experience
• To have a working knowledge of English and/or French. Knowledge of another of the six official United Nations languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish) will be an asset

Costs

Air travel and accommodation for the selected youth journalists and bloggers will be covered by UNESCO.

Application

The documents required for the application are the following:

• CV
• A brief cover letter.
• Online articles, videos, etc which prove journalism experience.
• Name and e-mail of two references from people who are familiar with the work of the youth blogger.

Applications should be sent to youth@unesco.org with the reference “Youth blogger application for the 7th UNESCO Youth Forum” no later than Thursday, September 15, 2011.

Tonto Dikeh Fight With Blogger Linda Ikeji Then Van Vickers + New Music Career

Stories have been flying across that Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh recently insulted Ghanaian actor Van Vicker while they were both on set of a movie . Apparently, Ghollywood insists that Tonto Dike formally apologises for this or face a possible ban from Ghanian movie sets, and have threatened to sanction any producer who will feature her in any Ghanian movie and will formally write the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to express their displeasure, should she refuse to apologise.

This gist came in only a few days after an internet fight with celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji. Apparently the cause of the fight was that Linda posted the above pictures of Tonto Dike on her blog, followed by the following write up

"Tonto Dike's Outfit to Damage UK Movie Premiere ... You like? Kinda loves it!"

Tonto dike was quick to reply via twitter

Linda Ikeji responded immediately by adding

"you just heard? lol, it's been in the news for years darling, love u, muah"

In other news, it's been reported that musician/ producer Kas has signed Tonto Dikeh to his music group as she is currently pursuing a career in music. I have never heard her sing in real nor in the movies so I can't tell you what to expect ... lets wait and see lol...

Hello everyone, i just want to correct an impression, i got married at a tender age and hv 2 kids, ten yrs after my first divorce, i decided to try again but my second marriage unfortunately packed up after 5yrs (2005) since then i've been working hard to move on wit my life, i'm not perfect (who is?) It leaves me wondering why an artist of my age and calibre cannot interact wit any man (young or old) without d media attaching romance to it. D young man here, presley is a family friend who is like a brother to me, nothing more. One Lovely blog award

So i had four awards yesterday, and i was very excited because its my first award ever, yet it came in four - folds, i'm so so lucky eh!!! Did i forget to say i got tagged by Madame Sting yes i did. So thanks to MsNana Vyvyka Myne Whitman and Adiya I am really really grateful, lol... in my mind, i'm feeling noticed.

Hey people, I’ve been on here stalking most of you for a while, but this is my first time blogging ever, and I am really excited. I don’t know about you all, but being the Nigerian girl that I am, the sunshine is my inspiration to do so many things. Ok Ok Ok I know it isn’t officially spring, and I know though last week‘s weather was awesome, this week has been a right mess but honestly, I have been locked up in the house and stuck in seriously heavy coats for way too long , by the way, I find it really hard to believe some people actually prefer winter, like are you being serious????

Anyway  the point is, in my dictionary it is spring, so I’m out of my shell and I should be enjoying my morning jogs ( I haven’t done that in like forever, I don’t know how I stay a size 8 considering the quantity of food I consume), I would also be saying hi to the pensioners (yeah they love my smile), and having my next door neighbours smile at me (in my neighbourhood they only do that in the summer and I’m yet to figure out why), most of all spring/ summer shopping (yesssss). You can’t beat that, it’s like the best thing  spring/ summer brings to me (I believe winter shopping is a waste of money, by the way, I tend to repeat my winter clothes year after year) I hope my friends haven’t noticed … guess they have now

Well guys, I’m off for a  walk (in my Shorts … God help me, its 3 degrees out there and I can’t see anyone smiling), anyway I look forward to sharing my thoughts, observations and gossips with you all, for now, I’m off … By the way, who dis-virgins my blog???
