I was having a chat with a friend (a guy) who suggested that valentine is actually bad, here are a few points;
1 For single people with no Valentine's date, it's just a day/ night staying indoors while your friends run out to have fun with their perfect date, and of-course they won't stop talking about it - how depressing
2 For those in relationships, Valentines Day is another night filled with pressure, expectation, and very often disappointment with everyone running helter skelter and breaking the bank just to get the perfect gift or in some cases getting very excited about the perfect gift only to get disappointed.
He thinks it should be a period for people to love and cherish their partners rather than having to get or do something to show how much they love and cherish their partners.
I must say, I agree with his last point, nonetheless, I don't find the whole gift buying, anticipation etc boring, nor do I agree it should be strictly about reflecting on the relationship, a small gift as well won't hurt. What do you guys think?
I think ur friend is right. It's not how big a gift nor how expensive it is that matters, it's d gesture and love behind it that counts.
