Nwankwo Kanu, Popularly known as kanu on (born 1 August 1976), is a Nigerian footballer born in the heart land of Owerri city . He began his career at Nigerian league club Federation Works, before moving to Iwuanyanwu Nationale. He was signed by Dutch Eredivisie AFC Ajax in 1993, he later moved from Ajax to inter-milan(1996), Arsensal(1999), WestBrom(2004), PortMouth(2006 till 31st july 2012)
He was also a member of theNigerian national team for 16 years from 1994 until 2010. During his playing time he has won so many awards like UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup Winners Medals and two African Player of the Year awards amongst others. He is also one of few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup and an Olympic Gold Medal. He holds the record for most substitute appearances in Premier League history, appearing from the bench 118 times. He is also a UNICEF ambassador and the founder of kanu heart foundation
Kanu got Married to Amara in 2004 and together they have three kids.
