In 1967 during the Nigerian Civil War, Prof. Wole Soyinka was arrested by the Federal Government of General Yakubu Gowon after being branded a Biafran spy. He was put in solitary confinement for two years..Here he is strolling to prison after being arrested.
Can you imagine this policeman, not having a single weapon on him but still, he is making an arrest. If this incident had occurred today, our policeman will round him up and dump him sharply to the back of their Hillux van with more men and arms to guard him.. This is to show the hight level of development since independence.
I wish our policemen could still be using this kind of uniform..lol.. don't you agree with me?
