Nigeria’s Olympic Basketball team player Al Farouq Denies Nigeria

US celebrity news website TMZ  had a little chat with Basketball team player Al Farouq Aminu who represented Nigeria in the recent concluded Olympic held in London, where they talked about his performance and nationality.

Aminu plays for New Orleans Hornets in US as a small forward in basketball, he participated in all five games for Nigeria Basketball Team in the London 2012 Olympics.

Aminu was quiet clear on his nationality by saying, he has never been to the shores of Nigeria, but his father is a Nigerian, and so, he has every right to play for Nigeria because of his dual nationality.

‘I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia but my dad is Nigerian’, the New Orleans Hornets player said.

So he was a representing a country he has never been to?

What do you think about this basketballer's disclaimer of Nigeria? Since we have enough money to go round. Anybody can TEMPORARILY bear Nigerian..lol

  1. I don't think there is anything wrong with him choosing to represent Nigeria even though he has never been there. His father is Nigerian afterall and by relation he is nigerian too.
