1958 Miss Nigeria, Helen Anyamelune Begs For Help In Covering Medical Expenses


Helen Anyamelune now 73yrs old won the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant in 1958 but today (53years later), she is penniless, ill with stroke and confined her to a wheel chair, the once adored beauty gradually faded as a result of age and illness. Over the past few years, Helen spent all her saving on travels to London and India, but at the moment she can't afford to follow through.

Her family and friends are calling on Local, State and Federal Government as well as NGOs, multinational companies, and individuals to come to her aid in covering her medical expenses.

  6. The trouble with us Nigerians is that we tend to quickly forget our heroes - we believe that once you are famous, that is it, you are loaded for life, but it isn't always that way. The same thing happened to the man who designed the Nigerian flag some years ago. Here in the UK, believe me, this would never happen.

    Nigerians, respect your heroes.
